County Connections

(Airdate: June 19, 2026) This week, on the last County Connections of the spring season. (County Connection will be on hiatus from June 26 through July31 so KPTZ can broadcast Centrum’s Free Friday Concerts at 12 noon on Friday’s.) Today, which was a holiday for many, co-hosts Commissioner Heather Dudley-Nollette and Jim Burke discuss the holiday and the historical significance of JUNETEENTH. PLUS they discuss the All-County Preparedness Day taking place Saturday, June 28 for 10am to 4pm at FinnRiver Farm and Cidery. Preparedness day is a family-friendly event to encourage everyone to be ready in the event of a county-wide emergency. You can learn about Neighborhood Prep (NPrep) to coordinate with your neighbors, have supplies on hand in case of being cut off from food, water and even shelter, and how county agencies will respond to a life-threatening county-wide disaster. Some of the FUN at the event includes a tug of war with a cash prize, and (vegan-friendly) strawberry shortcake provided by Jefferson Healthcare.
