Dove House operates quietly in the background providing a shelter for women and children who are in abusive situations. This cuts across all economic levels. Someone might be a pillar of society and a successful business person. But behind closed doors? Violence can occur in the most unlikely places. It takes great courage to step forward. A lot of what Dove House provides is education, particularly financial education.

It’s the big day! We’re finally blowing this berg to meet our date with destiny at the Urumqi airport. We’re headed 700 kilometers to the west, just inside China’s border with Uzbekistan. We woke up the doorman, who woke up the floor attendant, who made sure we didn’t steel any towels, and only then were we allowed to proceed to the airport bus waiting just a few blocks away….

Visit over 29 participating farms and organizations over the two day period! This self guided event celebrates locally grown food, fiber, and farm-made products, connecting community with local farmers! Farm Tour is looking for volunteers to be greeters and collect donations! This year’s Farm Tour includes 29 participating farms and organizations, connecting the community to farmers who are producing food, fiber and farm-made products locally.
