County Public Health Report

The County Health report began during the Pandemic as a weekly show called "The Virus Watch" broadcasting the portion of the Jefferson County Board of County Commisioners meeting where the Jefferson County Health Officer (Dr Tom Locke) reported on COVID-19. It has since become a monthly broadcast, usually on the first Monday of the month at 9:45am, with Dr. Allison Berry, Jefferson and Clallum County Health Officer and Willie Bence, Director of the Jefferson County Department of Emergency Management. After the broadcast, KPTZ posts the audio on our website.

This month on The BOCC Public Health Report, Dr. Allison Berry said that The COVID-19 and Influenza season is EARLY this year- recorded cases and hospitalizations have already occurred in September. Most vaccines are already available, and doctor Berry recommends that anyone seeking a vaccine should not wait. Willie Bence, Director of Emergency Management was not available this month.
